Why should QCOM get 5% on a Carl Zeiss lens or a 5 megapixel camera?

I wonder, did Nokia exclude all non-phone functionality when they were negotiating royalties with companies like Kyocera? I sincerely doubt it, so I find all of these crying about the royalty appling to the entire price of the handset more than a bit disingenuous (not that I fault Nokia for making the argument, I just dont think it holds much water).

Shooting dvd quality movies and photos that most often will not be uploaded using WCDMA. I can't remember the upload speed of WCDMA but we quickly get a lot of data here.
I doubt WCDMA will be an enabler of these features

HSUPA should be able to handle any picture sizes. For DVD quality movies, you'll need to move to a wider bandwidth technology (WiMAX, LTE, Rev C).
