I am not a big supporter of the medical marijuana argument. Most non-users see it as a circumventive way used by some to get stoned legally. And most see it as a sneaky wedge being used by NORMAL to desensitize the public. On the other hand I think marijuana use in general should be legalized and that the arguments should be more open, frank, and honest. The medical marijuana argument is a distraction to that. I would not be opposed to laws regulating sale with regards to the usual standards applied by health organizations and the FDA, or criminalizing impairment related accidents similar to what we have for alcohol.
