Elmat, yes, and if I were Brazilian like you, I'd have taken advantage of it. Unfortunately, the real/USD is not one of the major currency trades and so the spreads are wider. Also, with Brazil, one would need to keep up on all the political developments that can affect the exchange rates. that could be a full time job and the english reporting media is bias. :}
Having said that, I do think that, Brazil is very attractive as an investment and has great potential. I'd be interested in the development of your wife's Real Estate company, if you decide to do that.
