Saying I'm not Republican anymore isn't the same as saying I'd vote for Democrats. That's a very narrow view and really is emblematic of the partisanship rampant in this country.

I no longer identify with Republicans, but ultimately, I will vote for the candidate that represents my view that oil independence is the most important issue of our age. If that person is Republican, then great. But I won't hesitate to vote for a Democrat either.

I think one thing is clear. People need to throw off the shackles of partisanship and stop calling themselves Democrat or Republican. We need to vote for the best candidates period, whatever their party affiliation might be.
