Dems have caught up with the GOP on fundraising in the last month. Obviously this writer, who bases his partisan hopes on the GOP's expected great cash advantage, hasn't been reading the papers in the last few days. Or it's an old article. In fact, especially since Foleygate cash has been pouring into DNC coffers and contributions have dried up for the GOP. The GOP has also been forced to pour money into formerly safe races like George Allen's. They have effectively given up on four of the eight pivotal senate races.

ALso, voters are not going to buy the wave of GOP negative ads this year. The whole "weak on terrorism" and "he'll raise your taxes" campaigns pale in comparison to the debacle in Iraq (proving people like John Kerry were right and Bush was wrong), massive corruption in congress (the GOP's fault), the broken health care system and the attack on the middleclass issues. So the GOP really has nothing to run on. They are running ads about Osama Bin Laden now and that only reminds us Bush let Bin Laden go and made terrorism stronger.

This writer is totally delusional on Santorum. He hasn't been over about 40% in the polls all year. For an incumbant, that's death. The incumbant must have at least 49% going into the elections as he's the well-known one and undecideds break more for challengers, especially in a "throw out the rats" year like this one. Casey's lead over Santorum has been large and consistent. There is no sign of any enthusiasm to keep Santorum in office aside from dishonest jerks like you. Also, states like Pennsylvania and Ohio are going blue-blue-blue. That is happening all across the Great Lakes states except perhaps in thier southern-most all-white districts.
