Why would anything be considered in isolation? Because you want to consider its effects without the complicating effects of other related things. It seems to me you need to get a better perspective. Better in this case equalling more like yours... As civilizations go, we are fairly advanced. Such civilizations expect certain services to be performed. Gov't performs those services. To get the money to perform those services requires money; hence taxes. Services can be provided by the private sector as well. Its why they call taxes a necessary evil. I agree with the idea of taxes as a necessary evil. To keep harping on the issue suggests a bit of immaturity. That's ad-hominem, not a real argument for your cause.
