In other words, reject observations as too complex and reject historical data because it could be contaminated. Just build a logical structure based on some hypotheses that make sense to you. Whether or not it actually maps to any consensual reality doesn't appear to be a concern. Your observation makes sense to me.......what doesn't make sense to me is Tim Fowler's position on econ. issues.
