I know a lot of our garbage that can be recycled goes to China, even the normal stuff like plastic bottles, as well as scrap electronics etc.

It's a pity local businesses cannot be part of the recycling activity. It must cost money to ship it all the way out to China and back. The free market is not free, and I doubt it ever will be.

I don't begrudge China getting ahead, but stuff like garbage recycling needs to be done at the countries of origin.
