RMF, You don't put cattle in a corral. Corrals are for horses.
I once saw a small herd of cattle just walk through the sides of a corral, and flattened the whole thing. Something spooked them.

Back in the old days, they would keep cattle in reinforced corrals at the railroad junction, but they were only in there long enough to load the cattle cars on the train.
