Paul - What do you consider an acceptable ROA for a regional bank stock? Also, is the ROE not a better measure for how efficient the bank is using the stockholder's funds? If so, what level of return is considered the minimum acceptable amount (when doing a stock screen).

I am having a hard time measuring "true" value for a lot of these bank stocks because goodwill charges overstate the BV. In many cases this is a very large number.
