Coyote

It was a fat spring; the fawn was tender.

Autumn was fat too; I feasted on gut piles left by the two-legs.

Winter came. All I had was the antlered remains left by the panther and that bony doe. She could hardly walk.

Spring will come, I hope.

Hunter

I hunt the mountain like the panther.

My eyes are in front. We predators are built like that.

That spike will grow. In three years he ruts. In six, no doe is safe.

I bide my time. His crown will honor my wall, his flesh will become mine.

The Worm

Hah! They are so proud: the two-leg, the panther, the coyote, the doe, the buck, the spike.

I eat them all.

The Creator

Are they not born? Do they not live? Do they not run and leap for joy, each in its own way? Do they not kill? Do they not die?

It is a circle.

I created it.

It is good.

Response: The circle is small!

I hope we can keep this going and maybe more will come.
