The Lancet 'study' declined to do any obvious cross checks.

For example, they noted that 80% of the deaths they found in their interviews had a death certificate. Great, so if you apply that 80% number to all of Iraq's death certificates, what sort of total number do you get? Less than a quarter of what they reported. Do they mention or explain this discrepancy? No.

They also failed to ask demographic questions, which is routinely done in such surveys as a cross-check for the representativeness of the sample.
