Yes that is the worst case scenario given how much debt our government and so many consumers carry. However, can they pull it off without serious repurcussions if the move up in inflation expectations and long term rates is tame and happens over a long period of time allowing the economy, the psyche of the public and our financial institutions to adjust accordingly?
