If it were anyone else, except for the US government, the persons responsable, and anyone close to them, would be hunted down and punished.

ANYBODY EVEN GETTING CLOSE TO DEFRAUDING ONE BILLION DOLLARS FROM THE PUBLIC, WOULD AND SHOULD GET LIFE IN PRISON

Such a person is the worst kind of theif.

And every stinkn' one of them for the last several decades has helped to prepetuate the theft. Either prepetuate or at least turned a blind eye to it.

The size of the lie does matter.

Calling it anything else is only an effort to repaint the picture.

It also seems logical to me to point out the theft while it is still ongoing.

"And the term "trust fund" is mostly misleading as well. If you look at things purely from the perspective of the SSA then there is a trust fund. It doe own bonds, but then remember my analogy where might right pocked owns an IOU. If the asset is exactly equal to the obligation, you can either consider yourself as having both, or you can net out both and say you have nothing. From the perspective of the government as a whole, or the country as a whole, it makes more sense to net them out and say there is, and never has been, a trust fund."

One error, in the logic, is that the SSA ownes the trust fund. not

They are the trusties of the fund.
