I don't think anything has changed. The economy wasn't "falling apart" 4-5 weeks, ago ... and it isn't booming now.

The economy is slowly sliding ... some numbers may make the economy look worse than it is - some make it look better ... but the slow slide is continuing.

And perhaps corporate profits, interest rates and easy credit can sustain the bubble economy? We do have a major housing bust underway in much of the country and unemployment still remains low.
