Hey! AMD got a dual CPU server in the Dell lineup (the SC). I thought that the original Dell Server announcement back in the Spring was only for quad CPU servers. Is this a recent change?

Good catch!

The original announcement in May was only for 4P servers.
Later announcements (August?) added desktops and 2P server.

Still no decent tower based AMD server from the tier-ones.
IBM offers one, but limited to two 7200rpm SATA drives.

I may be the only one here, but I am not surprised in the least that there is a 2-socket server in the lineup from DELL. When DELL announced the deal way-back-when, they never said it would only be a 4-socket server, but used the term "multi-processor server." I thought the term was purposefully ambiguous and said so back then, but was laughed at by the Inteligentsia here.
