MM, in NZ, we had many privatisations of government properties in the 1980s. NZ had been state-owned to a great proportion before that and what wasn't state-owned was state-controlled. I don't think it would involve anarchy, chaos, economic collapse, famine, AIDS and warts if the government privatized the money supply or sold it to Australia [which has been mooted - use a common Australasian currency, ditching the $kiwi.

Better than that though, is Mq's brand new, all-singing-and-dancing, complete with bells and whistles, cybercurrency Qi.
