everyone will be complaining about "big hydrogen" or "big battery" companies gouging customers and rigging elections....

Getting rid of the all engines powered by gasoline withing 15 years would be almost impossible. Getting rid of most of them in the US could perhaps be done, but only at a cost that exceeds any reasonably imaginable benefit.
