Bush's plan for Iraq is dead, but some people are never going to realize that, nor are they going to realize that the fault with the "plan", such as it was, lies with Bush, and not with the Democrats, or the MSM, or the Iraqis. Bush made a tragic and foolish error because neither he nor his team were knowledgeable about Iraq, the ME, or the history of "transformational" efforts. As we all know, those who do not heed the lessons of history are doomed to repeat the failures of history- it's just too bad the rest of us had to get drawn in to Mr. Bush's failure. My heart goes out to the families of the US military war dead. I can understand why they might need to go on believing in a "just" cause- because if they don't, they will have only the knowledge that their sons and daughters died for nothing, or more horribly, for a mistake that made things worse. I hope they manage to go on believing in something, but it will be good if a majority do not- because then we can make sure we limit the numbers who need to grieve.
