Bob,
She was always firm with me but very "mousey" with others

Know all about that.. :o)

Funny about decisions... My daughter wanted to apply to the art oriented school and also I had her apply also to pure academically oriented school. (she didn't want that one but choices are freedom). Anyway as the summer wore on she became more and more ansi about leaving her old classmates behind.. In visits to my folks she mentions this to them and my dad related to me that she was very scared of going.. Well I know my kids almost too well. I told him don't worry. She'll be fine and I'm not surprised..

The night before first day she was crying.. So I tell her look... you are registered, you wanted this, this just your normal reaction. Do one semester. If you feel the same you can go back to French immersion. First day I pick her up..

Me-How was it ?
her-Good..
me-Real scary ?
her-Well I met Graham and Jill. (two kids a grade ahead that she has known well from grade-4 and was in grade 4-5 and 5-6 split classes with them.
her-Oh and I was with Nikita.. A kid in the same grade, now same home room that she has skated with since she was 5..
Me-That's good, glad it didn't go too badly.
me-been waiting long ? about 15 minutes but I was with Nadia.. Another kid she skates with for years and a grade ahead..

A week later .. I made a joking comment about her school.. to which she quickly replied.. I like my new school :o)

Last week I asked her if she was sorry she went there... Not one bit.. Miss your old friends ? Well a little but I talk to most of them every day and we still go to movies together so it's OK and I think God bless MSN instant messaging LOL..

We saw her October progress report and met the teachers.. She's doing well and has now joined the swim team....

All decisions were her's but there was a lot of hand holding at the outset :o)
