It is your right to disagree. It was your flippant disrespect in terming Canada's claims to the lands and waters she has owned since 1880 as "fictional" which drew me into the discussion. I am well aware that certain countries wish to "claim" that Canada's sovereignty is not absolute in certain respects. This is understandable considering the strategic military and economic issues involved. However, neither the United States nor Japan stoop to the ludicrous badinage of terming Canadian sovereignty claims as "fictional". At the most, they wish to be given the opportunity to present a case for the right to traverse internal Canadian waters subject to certain conditions and obligations. And so they shall...
