and fanboy bias.

Please obey the rules.

If Bob Rivet actually said that

He did.

AMD's 65 nm slip

There were a fair number of articles over the past year, actually.

There would be analysts doubting that AMD was producing 65nm until it hit the store shelves.

I imagine there are.

You let some website convince you on the basis of some half-baked theory.

No, it was one of Bob's analyst presentations.

BTW, you still haven't answered the other question: Are you suggesting that AMD planned all along to deliver 65nm parts starting in late December??? Seriously?

jspeed,

I have to agree with Doug here. My recollection is that Fab 36 was (originally) supposed to ramp on 65nm in early 2006. Most of us were hoping that AMD has a contingency plan to ramp on 90nm process, in case of 65nm slip. So when it eventually came out that there will be 90nm production in Fab 36, it was a relief and a concern at the same time. Relief that the fab won't set idle, and concern about when 65nm would ramp.

Early H1 turned into late H1 start with volume in H2, later to late H2 launch with H1 2007 volume.
