Why did he serve?

My guess is his Daddy told him to follow the JFK model. A liberal Demo from MA, initials JFK etc. He probably had no choice but to join the navy if he wanted political success.

I can't prove it, but it wouldn't surprise me if Kerry had a pre-approved make an appearance and get let out early agreement. No wonder most of his fellow SWIFT boat commanders and crews detest him.
