That's probably a sad truth for many smaller towns. Fortunately, I live in a townhome complex. I've been here for 27 years as have several of my neighbors. No one comes into this complex that doesn't have dozens of eyes watching. We're near fire and police and they keep an eye on us as well. I've heard of just one break in in this complex since I've been here. I feel safe, but I remain cautious. Don't go out at night much anymore and I have no need to. The older I get the more careful I've become.
