He was mentioning integrating cpu and graphics on hand held devices (we all presume x86 now, right), and Intel has stated major objectives in that area. I have no reason to assume that either company is not going in this direction. I would assume that Intel would be further ahead as AMD just started in that direction yesterday.

Maybe. Intel has had past experience which they probably used 4-5 years ago (Timna) to develop what will be in Nehelem which I would presume to be their latest experience as I would assume that's pretty well defined at this point.
