Dubya is an establishment preppy. His Texas 'roots' are in oil and country club land which has little to do with the actual people of Texas. Poppy was a carpetbagger and Dubya is a silver foot in his mouth eastern liberal wannabe. The eastern liberals won't have him because he's too lazy and screws up the english language beyond recognition and smells too strongly of oil corruption. Being a Republikan is always the fallback position (works very well for token minorities as well) for those who can't make it in liberal circles. All you have to do is show up, swear fealty to the party and you're in. That's one of the criticism of Dems. You have to work your way through the ranks in order to get taken seriously whereas you can just show up to a Republikan affair (not George's BASE affairs of course which is only for friends of Bushies) and they welcome you with open arms....as long as you keep your mouth shut. The Dems should work on that.
