remember how the cheerleaders talked about an alleged 'shortage' of housing units only one year ago?

very similar to the alleged shortage of telecom components in 2000. the "great" CEO John Chambers had to write down $3 billion of inventory overpaid for by Cisco, a bubble stock at the time. that $3 billion writedown was equal to half of all the money Cisco had made in its entire history.

Chambers predicted Cisco would have a $1 trillion market cap. instead, he presided over the greatest loss of market cap dollars in world history, losing nearly 10 times Enron's loss in "shareholder value".
