"I don't know what that means."

There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch.

Popularized by Heinlein's "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress". The last part of the book, where the Professor is helping design the new government would give Tench an aneurysm...

That is, if the family structures don't get him first.

Hate to say it Tim, but your Infiniti is already partially designed by the government. From safety regulations to fleet fuel efficiency regulations.

You've made the same point in a more general way before, and I find it just as meaningless now as I did then. Freedom from government control isn't like virginity. You don't lose it completely all at once. You can have a great deal of government control but still be able to noticeably increase it, and than after that increase you can increase it again and again.

If you have to pay a little more to buy and maintain your car, so be it, the benefits will outweigh the cost.

Even if the only cost was "a little bit more to buy an maintain" cars (and it isn't) its far from clear that the benefits would outweigh the cost.

Wasting gas, and thus making everyone else pay more for gas , is socially unhealthy behaviour.

Whether an outright waste of gas is anti-social could be debated. Driving in a car that doesn't get excellent gas mileage is not anti-social.

I don't know what that means.
