Can you still sell your shares in a timely fashion if you needed to?

Pete,

I seem to recall that only the shares in a margin account can be loaned out for shorting, not shares in cash account. So one (much simpler) way to reduce the pool of shares available for shorting is to move them to a cash account.

OTOH, short sellers make the short squeeze scenario possible, which accelereates movement of stock up, once it is on the way up.
