I was talking about Independents (largest political classification in the US) but, YES, those political goals jibe well with the original goals of 'WESTERN conservatism', also known as Goldwater conservatism... and the wellspring from which Reagan drank. (Goldwater, for example, while personally opposed to abortion... believed that it was none of the government's business what women did in this regard. And that, only when people were fully born did the rights of citizenship apply.)
