Doug,

Once they missed the boat for delivering the new '06 products @65 nm, then it's just a business decision when they finally do start shipping 65nm.

The real measure of progress here is the capacity of Fab 36. That's at 10k wafer outs/month. So as far as I'm concerned, they are about 1Q in flow behind their promise.

But you can take the myopic fanboy view if you are so inclined.

Well, Doug, it gets real interesting now!

1. INTC's CPU division produces 4 x AMD's revenues from its CPU division.

2. INTC's chipset division produces about 6 x AMD's chipset revenues going forward.

At the close tonight, INTC's valuation was $125B and AMD's valuation was $10.5B, INTC's about 12 x AMD's!

Something has to give!

Was today's action the beginning of a more reasonable valuation alignment?

............................................................

Additionally, was today's AMD strength the beginning of the runup to $40, at which time AMD floats another 60M share issue to erase the ML $2.5B loan?

............................................................

(I'll not be surprised on either count!) ;-)
