Burning the flag, for instance, might be permitted under free speech, but it is hardly patriotic. That's an extreme example, but one which illustrates my point.


Burning the flag can certainly be patriotic... depend on what is being protested. Burning the constitution (or repealing habeas corpus) would be a different matter. The flag is nothing; the constitution is everything.

But back to reality from partisan myth, when was the last time you saw a Dem burning the flag?
