They rose from poverty. Maybe the opinion is that you have to be poor to be really black, or at least be born in the class you are in.

After the election and the worst case of racism in recent history, democrats will point to how few elected black Republicans and claim that republicans just don't let blacks get ahead. It appears to be democrats punishing them for leaving the plantation.
