It's just a piece of cloth. It's what it stands for that counts. If it stands for evil, burning it makes sense to me, because I don't want any part of it.


Bush has brought a lot of shame to our flag - not THIS much, but a lot.

Burning the flag just to show your "patriotism" makes about as much sense as burning a NY Yankees banner just to show your support for the team. Doesn't matter whether you hate Bush or Steinbrenner, it's stupid either way.

Not if their are autocratic Republicans who worship a symbol like the flag. What better way to make them conscious than by burning one of their symbols. And don't forget, worshiping false idols can make you into a stepford person.
