why not, seeing as localized versions seem to be happening with increasing frequency, culminating in what to any movie goer should be the 'inevitable' grand finale.

Localized versions are different. Those localized economy systems are so small compared to the rest of the global enconomy. See Thailand which started off the Asian financial crisis in 1997 ... you wonder how many products are out there made of Thai in global trade ... not many. Their economy basically is dead with only tourists travelling in there for sex trade. That's basically it. A systematic collapse for that country is surely inevitable. That doesn't affect global economy. Things can recover fast ... Now, if you dream on to have some catastrophes that interrupt major world trade, then that's another thing. Sure you are expecting this doomsday coming fast. At that time, I believe anything "paper" is no use ... even "paper" gold. Worrying about your daughter's future ? Btw, if you have a pile of gold in a bank, the bank would certainly wish you dead. Of course, HSBC is denying any such large gold deposits by former Chile dictator. Paper evidence is really useless.

TJ, collapse pros, like us Brazilians, don't hold gold. And had gone through a collapse every ten years like a breeze.

Note the "had gone", because we will not go through another collapse since:

1) banks sanitized 12 years ago.

2) debt paid through printing press (Thanks AG!)

3) interests rates have room to go down and create internal growth

4) demographic window to last 20 to 25 years still

5) Chinese sucking our exports of materials and food

6) Political stability
