have just moved from Chicago to Pasadena, CA. My employer was bought by Honeywell and they started outsourcing the IT department. Many of the senior management people are taking retirement and some of those younger people whom Honeywell wants to keep are bailing out also. Although I was only there for 8 years the layoff policy qualified me for retirement-so I get a small pension and 3 months severance pay along with outplacement assistance. Packed a 16' Penske truck,put a flat bed auto carrier on the back and towed everything 2100 miles to California. That was an adventure. Living with my sister's family for now until I find a job-then will move to be close to work...no commuting for me (G). Unfortunately I had to suspend job hunting for a while; I found it interferes with volleyball practice...maybe later. Spent a day standing in front of that Chinese theatre with the other characters,but no one asked if I wanted to be in the movies. Still waiting to be discovered ! TWNN
