It is very interesting Peter to study more about those times, through a personal history search. All of a sudden one cares when county lines were formed, and from what original state and county, etc. The Early Colonial War records are another good source, as are early birth, marriage and death records as recorded either in Bibles, or in Church records. There were no birth certificates in those early years of our country...

And you are right....People, no matter of their country of origin, should know more about American History. It is currently a requirement to get American Citizenship. Many of our new Naturalized Citizens know more of American History than quite a few who were born here and take this country for granted.
