The cost of a complete mill that will produce concentrate looks like it would cost between $200-$400,000.00 for a 100-200tpd mill. Extremely economical. Two reasons for adding portable mills would be: 1/ cheaper to truck a concentrate than raw ore, if oil prices continue to rise this would be add even more value to this 2/ Metallurgy. A different mix of metals would mean different chemicals ... ' Interesting, some of us logger dirtmover landscape adjuster types were talking about this the other day, how there is no reason a lot of the mill-side of mining couldn't be scaled down, and remain economic, with modern hydraulics and controls it's just a matter of good design to make it efficient .... around here you can just phone up a guy with a crusher and he comes in and makes your material any dimension you like, costs surprisingly little per yard ... for probably cdn12k i could have bought a gravel crusher with screener this spring, fifth wheel rig eight feet wide, i really liked the screener setup but have no use for the crusher, so passed it up ... crusher worked well though ... there are all sorts of quickchange attachments for excavators, like jaw crushers to reduce the big stuff so you don't need much of a grizzly, and you'll likely use a hoe to feed the mill anyway Then, especially with gravity style concentration, it's pretty easy to reduce down to a truckable product, with equipment that all fits on highway width trailers ... EC will have looked into this a lot, for sure
