My book on canoe routes says the Little Spokane is fed by the Spokane Aquifer, which makes year-round floats possible. Evidently there is a sizable aquifer underground, which drains into the river. A lot of our area is glacial till, which would tend to store a lot of water.

I bookmarked that site. Thanks!

I was amazed at the houses that were built way too close to the River, in my opinion. I would always build on high ground.
