Mexicans seem to do well at agricultural jobs, which I suppose is the reason why we have such an illegal alien problem. I respect their drive to work hard, and don't blame them for the illegal problem. It's our policy problem, not theirs.

One of my first jobs in the early '60s was picking cotton .. not by hand, but by operating a John Deere mechanical cotton-picking machine. We called it a "picker". It was 16/7 work at $1/hour for 6 weeks during the hottest part of the summer in South Texas. My record day was 23 bales of cotton.
