Solon -

No, I'm not suggesting that. I was addressing the subject of "situational ethics", a phrase that conservatives use to denigrate liberals, and using the example of a U.S. citizen being denied due process by the Bush Administration.

Due process is something about which Democrats seem to care more than Republicans. When Democrats have voted against measures which violate the principle of due process, Republicans have accused them of being "soft on terrorism".
