Besides, we must be living on borrowed time, anyhow. I mean, I read "Limits To Growth" back in the 70s, and it prooved, beyond any doubt, that civilization would collapse before the year 2000.

So, panic now, there may not be time to panic later.

Thanks, that's the first time I've seen those numbers. But let's accept the 86 billion barrels as a given. Since the US consumes about 23 million barrels a day, that would supply us for about 10 years..... Does that give you a warm fuzzy?

It will be interesting to see if China and India become as energy greedy as the US and Canada (we're actually worse than you guys per capita)
