I'm confused (again!)
485,883,000 is the number of outstanding shares from the AMD web site and from the NYSE. As of 29-Oct.

Gee, you would think that would be current.

From the 2005 AMD annual report: p.82
750,000,000 shares authorized;
shares issued:
442,196,017 as of December 25, 2005 and
398,505,543 as of December 26, 2004;
shares outstanding:
435,526,719 as of December 25, 2005 and
391,738,648 as of December 26, 2004

Stockholders' equity:
Capital stock: 10/1/06 7/2/06 12/25/05
Common stock, par value 4,870 4,856 4,355
Capital in excess of par value 3,958,680 3,921,784 2,710,168
Retained earnings 881,631 747,160 473,678
Accumul other comprehensive income 167,313 178,790 163,636

amd.com 2006Q3 results

Yet the par value for Oct. 1 and July 2 imply about 487.0 and 485.6 MM shares outstanding (Common Stock,Par value at presumed $0.01/sh). Mar 26 also shows 483.2MM
The change from 435.5 MM in December to 483.2 is the offering in January.

Conclusion: All reporting services on the internet have not yet folded in the ATYT purchase. What are they waiting for, the T+3 reconciliation date?

Don't believe everything you read in the papers.
