Re free trade: It is my opinion that trade law now disproportionately favors large corporations and stands in the way of regular people benefiting from free trade, mainly because corporations vigorously defend their positions while their is usually no one defending the rights of regular people. In my opinion that is the duty of the government, to make sure the overall legal landscape is fair to all, not just to corporations. I think the government is failing in this responsibility.

re: separation of powers this administration is interpreting everything in such a way as to minimize separation of powers and to maximize their autonomy and lack of accountability to anyone else. I think this is a separation of powers issue. This administration seems intent on hijacking all powers it can hijack and get away with it. Unfortunately they have been getting away with it so far. That is why we need a governmental body or two to be democrat controlled, to provide for something other than the apparent blind rubber stamping that we are getting from the republican controlled Senate and House now.

Re environment: Maybe you could name me some republican legislation that does other than decay environmental protections. They want to drill ANWAR they want to free mining from any responsibility for any mess they make. The republican philosophy seems to be that protecting the environment is a luxury the economy can't afford.
