As a learned man who has the vision to see into the future and conclude that technology and innovation will supplant oil, I wonder why your first reaction to "peak oil" was to ridicule those who were worrying about the dwindling US and world supply and argue that it was just environmentalists or other such clowns who were concerned about such an irrational thought. Now you are invoking the "necessity is the mother of invention" philosophy basically saying, "hey, not to worry, there's always another gas station another mile away...." Your problem is that you have always leaned on others to take care of your needs, in this case energy. Do you have any original thoughts on the future or our oil supply.....the operative word here is "original".
