Back in 1977 Ira Cobleigh published a best seller titled:
"Happiness is a stock that doubles in a year."

You can still buy it at Amazon for $0.99 <g>

In January RNAI was trading at $3.05 & at MRK's buy out price of $13 in cash it is a 300% gain since January, not counting some profit taking & buy backs along the way, which lowered the average cost, albeit at the end I don't know how much difference it would have made since I haven't done that calculation of what profit would I have made if I had kept all my initial holdings, which were lower after profit takings in spite of buy backs.<g>

My goal is to try to average a 1% gain/day. Lets see, that is 5%/week x 52 weeks= 260%/Yr., but since there are several weeks in which there aren't 5 trading days, the right calculation should probably be 5%x 50= 250%/Yr.

So I think I would take 300% in less than a Yr's time, which is more than 1%/trading/day, & especially since it is becoming much harder to achieve that than it was some 7 or 8 years ago.I don't know if it is due to the market or to the aging process.<g>

I think I will take some of today's extra profit to buy a present for the wife, since we just celebrated our 51st anniversary. It doesn't seem that a whole Yr, is gone by since we had the party for the 50th.<g>

I think I will use some of the profit to buy some resveratrol nutritional supplements after reading today's article on the WSJ & wait to see if Sirtris comes out on an IPO.<g>
