I managed a team of 12 direct regional sales managers in North America, Europe and Asia. You can tell from results without every visiting with them who was getting the job done.

IMO the opinion, the best people are result oriented and those who insist on playing the water cooler are looking for an easier way to the top. Not to say it doesn't work but who would you want on your team?
