Thanks, Wayne.

The strategy of 'divide and conquer' is as old as civilization... so for the life of me I' can't figure out why some folks seem to think the concept is so difficult to understand!

Hell, the Sunni extremists are *already* lined up and fighting the Shiites... and the Shiite extremists are *already* killing any Sunnis of military age that come into their grasp... and a very DIRTY civil war is shaping up to resolve historic grievances and establish new 'zones of influence' between the Iranian & Iraqi Shiites, and the Gulf State and world-majority Sunnis --- so why should Uncle Sucker stand in the crossfire in the middle of the two warring sides, when it's actually likely to prove VERY BENEFICIAL to our interests to have the fundamentalist extremists on both sides of the Islamic religious (and the Persian/Arab ethnic) split fight each *other* for years to come until both sides are exhausted?

They wouldn't be able to blame the 'Western world' any longer if they were making all their OWN problems, and fighting fights that we didn't have any dog in.
