(PS --- The recession... which *officially* BEGAN in May 2001 and ENDED in November 2001 --- *after* the Bush's accession to power --- was one of the MILDEST and SHORTEST recessions in official records of the US. The one we are perhaps entering into right now may not turn out to be so benign....)
