I know the standard Bush line is that one man like Osama really doesn't make any differnce, but that is hogwash. One man, especially someone as charismatic as Osama, can make all the difference in the world.

Imagine a world where Hitler never rose to power? One extraordinary man can create hell or heaven on earth for millions of people. History has proven that time an again.

This isn't a matter of kill the head kill the snake. Rather, it is a matter of getting rid of one man who is massively influential to accomplish the following:
1) ensure that everyone knows that no one is above the law or retribution for attacks like 9/11
2) get rid of one man who has a remarkable leadership ability because even though we know another leader would emerge, leaders like Osama are not a dime a dozen, they are unique and usually not replaceable
